NFL: Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett traded to Los Angeles Rams as Odell Beckham Jr. makes sensational New York Giants return

The Cleveland Browns have agreed terms on a trade to send two-time defensive player of the year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams.

The trade is pending Garrett's physical examination and sees the Browns receive a 2027 first-round pick and pass rusher Jared Verse in return.

Garrett - who broke the NFL record for single season sacks with 23 in his last campiagn - with had previously issued a trade request but ended speculation when he signed a four-year, $160m (£118m) extension in 2025 with more than $122m (£90m) guaranteed.

However, the Browns finished the season 5-12 and plummeted to their second successive NFC north fourth-place finish, meaning that the franchise has missed the playoffs in seven of Garrett's nine seasons.

The defensive end reignited trade speculation when he missed the Browns' voluntary off-season training programme, and did not meet with new head coach Todd Monken after he replaced Kevin Stefanski earlier this year.

The Browns agreed to a restructured contract with Garrett that deferred $29m (£21m) dollars in bonus payments to September, giving Cleveland salary cap space to trade the pass-rusher - though they will still suffer a combined $40m (£29m) hit from Garrett's contract in the next two years.

The trade ends a lengthy nine-year tenure for Garrett since his selection by the Browns as the No 1 draft pick in 2017. He will join a Rams side that were one game away from the Super Bowl last season, and boast one Super Bowl title and a staggering 10 playoff wins under head coach Sean McVey.

The Los Angeles side will no doubt be buoyed by the addition of the best defensive player in the NFL.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has been traded to the New England Patriots for a 2028 first-round and a 2027 fifth-round pick, ending an illustrious but troubled tenure with the Super Bowl LIX champions.

Brown finishes his tenure with the Eagles with over 5000 receiving yards and a Super Bowl ring having made history as the only Eagles player ever to eclipse 1000 receiving yards in four consecutive seasons, though leaves under a cloud of controversy after numerous off-field issues marred his last two campiagns with the Eagles.

Brown was heavily criticised for telling fans on a twitch stream that they should "get rid" of him from their NFL fantasy teams - highlighting his dissatisfaction with his role on the team - before Eagles security guard Dom DiSandro had to physically separate the wide receiver and his head coach Nick Sirianni in a heated spat during the team's playoff loss to the 49ers in January.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman trading up to select highly-touted wide receiver Makai Lemon in the first round of this year's draft all but sealed Brown's fate - but they saved $7m (£5.2m) in cap space by waiting until June 1 to make the trade

The Patriots, though, secure another weapon for young quarterback Drake Maye as they look to eclipse their loss in the AFC Championship and go one better to the Super Bowl this campaign.

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been signed by his former team, the New York Giants - in a remarkable move that secures the former pro-bowler a long-awaited return to the NFL after a season's absence.

Beckham made his name with the Giants after being selected 12th in the 2014 draft, then acheiving three consecutive 1300+ yard seasons to cement his name as one of the premier wide receivers in the league.

The American is also famous for recording one of the NFL's most iconic moments in a Giants jersey, when he recorded a 43-yard touchdown reception against the Dallas Cowboys that is widely regarded as the greatest catch in NFL history.

His recent NFL history, though, has been marred with controversy. Beckham was suspended for six games in 2025 for violating the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy, and remained unsigned throughout the season - he only managed nine catches for 55 yards in nine games for the Miami Dolphins during the previous campaign.

The wide receiver, though, appears to have got his happy ending in returning to the team that drafted him, joining forces once again with head coach John Harbaugh, who coached Beckham to 35 catches and 565 yards with the Baltimore Ravens in the 2023 season.
